GLOBAL LEAK SOLUTIONS PTY LTD
LEAK DETECTION GUIDE
TERMS OF ACCESS, USE AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION
Version 1.1
Effective date: 13 October 2026
Operator: Global Leak Solutions Pty Ltd (GLS)
Website: https://globalleaksolutions.com.au
Governing jurisdiction: Queensland, Australia
1. AGREEMENT TO THESE TERMS
These Terms and Conditions (Terms) form an agreement between Global Leak Solutions Pty Ltd (GLS, we, us or our) and each person who registers for, accesses or uses the GLS Leak Detection Guide (Guide).
The Guide is a proprietary training and technical reference resource containing educational material, instructional procedures, videos, diagrams, written guides and other professional leak detection information.
By registering for an account and selecting the required agreement checkbox, you acknowledge that:
- You have been given access to these Terms before registration.
- You have read and understood the Terms.
- You agree to comply with the Terms.
- Your right to access the Guide is conditional on compliance with the Terms.
- Breaches may result in suspension or termination of access and legal action where legally justified.
If you do not agree, you must not register for or access the Guide.
2. OWNERSHIP AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise identified, GLS owns or holds the necessary rights or licences to provide the proprietary content within the Guide.
Protected materials may include:
- Written educational content and technical instructions.
- Original leak detection training guides and procedures.
- Videos, animations, audio recordings and demonstrations.
- Photographs, illustrations, graphics and diagrams.
- Checklists, worksheets, flowcharts and technical documents.
- Original software, calculators and interactive learning materials.
- The selection, arrangement, presentation and compilation of Guide content.
- GLS branding, logos, trade names and other protected intellectual property.
Certain equipment illustrations, product names, manuals and other materials may belong to third-party rights holders. These Terms do not claim ownership of those third-party materials.
The Guide and its protected content are provided for authorised use only. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of intellectual property to a member. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
3. LIMITED PERSONAL ACCESS LICENCE
Subject to these Terms, GLS grants each authorised member a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Guide for their own professional education, development and legitimate leak detection activities during their valid access period.
Members may apply the practical knowledge and skills they learn when performing lawful professional work. However, access does not authorise reproduction, distribution, publication, commercial exploitation or unauthorised use of GLS protected materials.
Membership does not give permission to operate a training business using GLS materials, represent oneself as an authorised GLS trainer, or distribute the Guide to other technicians. Any additional rights must be expressly authorised by GLS in writing.
4. STRICT PROHIBITION ON COPYING AND RECORDING
Except where expressly authorised in writing by GLS or otherwise permitted by applicable law, members must not copy, capture, record, reproduce, store, publish or distribute protected Guide content.
Screenshots and screen capture:
- Taking screenshots of protected Guide pages or instructional materials.
- Using screen-capture software or browser extensions to capture Guide content.
- Saving protected images to computers, phones or cloud storage.
Video and audio recording:
- Screen-recording instructional videos, animations or Guide navigation.
- Filming a device displaying Guide content.
- Recording instructional audio or narrated training content using any equipment.
Copying and downloading:
- Copying substantial portions of text or training instructions.
- Downloading materials where download permission has not been granted.
- Extracting images, diagrams, video or other website files.
- Printing protected materials without authorisation.
- Creating archives or reproducing material by transcription, scanning or automated extraction.
Where GLS provides a specifically downloadable document for authorised use, the member may download and use it for its stated purpose, subject to accompanying conditions. Permission does not authorise wider distribution or commercial reproduction.
5. STRICTLY PERSONAL LOGIN CREDENTIALS
Every Guide account is for the exclusive use of the registered individual. Members must not:
- Share usernames or passwords with employers, employees, colleagues, subcontractors, friends or family.
- Permit another person to use the Guide while the member is logged in.
- Create shared company accounts without written GLS authority.
- Sell, transfer, lend or give away membership access.
- Provide access to anyone not individually authorised by GLS.
- Attempt to bypass registration, membership or payment requirements.
A membership purchased or funded by an employer does not automatically permit other employees to use it. Each technician must have their own authorised account unless GLS has agreed otherwise in writing.
Members must keep credentials secure and promptly notify GLS of suspected unauthorised access.
6. UNAUTHORISED DISTRIBUTION AND SHARING
Members must not distribute protected GLS Guide material to anyone who is not independently authorised to receive it, including through email, messaging platforms, social media, online forums, websites, file-sharing services, cloud storage, company intranets, employee training systems, printed handouts, presentations, manuals or shared drives.
Distributing protected material without authority may breach these Terms and, depending on the circumstances, infringe copyright. Sharing without charging money does not automatically make it permissible.
7. COMPETING TRAINING PRODUCTS AND COMMERCIAL MISUSE
Members must not use Guide access to unlawfully appropriate GLS intellectual property or reproduce GLS protected training materials for another educational or commercial product.
Without GLS's prior written permission, members must not:
- Reproduce substantial GLS training content in another course.
- Copy or closely adapt protected diagrams, photographs, videos, checklists or instructional documents for distribution.
- Compile Guide content into a competing manual, membership website, course or product.
- Supply GLS protected training content to another training provider.
- Develop products that reproduce or improperly exploit protected GLS resources.
- Misrepresent copied GLS content as their own work.
- Claim to be authorised GLS trainers, partners or representatives without permission.
- Use GLS branding to falsely suggest affiliation or endorsement.
These restrictions do not prevent technicians independently developing lawful training materials using their own experience, original work, publicly available information or knowledge they are otherwise entitled to use. GLS does not claim ownership of general plumbing knowledge, independently developed skills or unprotected ideas and methods.
8. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND AUTOMATED EXTRACTION
Unless expressly authorised by GLS or permitted by law, members must not use automated tools to extract, reproduce or commercially exploit protected Guide content.
This includes scraping, automated downloading, bulk content harvesting, copying protected materials into third-party AI systems, uploading GLS materials to reproduce or reconstruct the Guide for distribution, training competing AI assistants or knowledge bases on extracted protected content, and circumventing access controls.
General AI tools may be used for legitimate professional work if protected GLS materials are not disclosed or misused contrary to these Terms.
9. PROTECTION OF DIGITAL CONTENT
GLS may use reasonable security measures including MemberPress restrictions, individual authentication, protected video streaming, digital watermarking, login and access records, detection of suspicious access patterns and download or recording restrictions.
Members must not intentionally bypass, disable, defeat or interfere with these controls or access protected files, databases, software or administrative systems without authority. GLS does not guarantee that every copying or recording method can be technologically prevented.
10. CONFIDENTIAL AND PROPRIETARY INFORMATION
Certain non-public GLS information may be commercially confidential, including proprietary resources, unpublished materials, restricted technical documents and non-public business information.
Members must not knowingly disclose or commercially exploit information clearly identified as confidential or reasonably understood to be confidential without written GLS permission, except where required or permitted by law.
This does not apply to information lawfully in the public domain, independently developed without misuse or otherwise lawfully disclosed.
11. TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Guide supports professional education and decisions by suitably trained technicians. It does not replace professional qualifications or licences, Australian Standards, work health and safety obligations, manufacturer instructions, site safety procedures, statutory requirements or independent professional judgement.
Results depend on pipe material, pressure, environmental noise, equipment condition, technician experience and site conditions. Members must assess each job, select appropriate equipment and work within their qualifications and authority.
No Guide procedure authorises unsafe work or ignoring applicable law. For fire services, electrical systems, pressurised equipment and other regulated infrastructure, members must comply with relevant requirements and use appropriately qualified personnel where necessary.
Compliance with Local Laws and Regulations
Members are solely responsible for ensuring that all work complies with applicable Commonwealth, state, territory, local and international laws, plumbing and drainage regulations, relevant Australian Standards or equivalent international technical standards, licensing requirements, workplace health and safety obligations, and directions issued by relevant regulatory authorities in the jurisdiction where the work is performed.
GLS training and Guide procedures do not replace or override applicable legal, regulatory, licensing or professional requirements. Members must establish and comply with the requirements applicable to their location before undertaking any work.
Local Laws and Regulations Take Precedence
Where any instruction, recommendation or procedure in the GLS Leak Detection Guide conflicts with applicable local laws, regulations, Australian Standards or equivalent international standards, licensing requirements or directions from regulatory authorities, the applicable legal and regulatory requirements must always take precedence.
Members must not follow any Guide procedure that would breach those requirements.
12. NO GUARANTEE OF LEAK-DETECTION RESULTS
The Guide supplies technical education and reference information, not a guarantee that every leak will be found or that any particular result will be obtained.
Some leaks cannot be reliably pinpointed; equipment and site conditions impose limitations; different methods or additional testing may be needed; excavation decisions require reasonable supporting evidence.
Members must not claim a location is conclusively confirmed solely because a Guide procedure was followed.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
13. MEMBERSHIP ACCESS, DURATION AND EXPIRY
Access is governed by the applicable membership or training arrangement, is individual and lasts for the relevant access period.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, membership gives no permanent access, ownership of materials, transfer rights, continued access after expiry or distribution rights.
GLS may improve or replace Guide content, subject to applicable contractual and statutory rights concerning significant changes to purchased services.
14. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION FOR BREACH
GLS takes breaches of intellectual property, account security and membership conditions seriously. Where it has reasonable grounds to believe a member materially breached these Terms, GLS may take proportionate action considering the nature and seriousness of the suspected breach.
Actions may include requesting an explanation, directing that unauthorised activity stop, temporary suspension during investigation, reasonable security measures, termination following a substantiated serious breach, requests to remove unlawfully distributed content, or pursuing lawful remedies.
GLS may act promptly to prevent ongoing unauthorised access, substantial infringement or security harm. Where practicable and appropriate, the member will have an opportunity to respond before permanent termination.
Termination does not extinguish accrued rights or lawful claims. Refund entitlements and other remedies are determined by the agreement and Australian law.
15. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT AND LEGAL CONSEQUENCES
GLS WILL TAKE UNAUTHORISED COPYING, DISTRIBUTION AND COMMERCIAL EXPLOITATION OF PROTECTED MATERIAL SERIOUSLY.
Unauthorised activities may constitute breach of contract, copyright infringement or other unlawful conduct. Where warranted, GLS reserves the right to pursue remedies available under Australian law, including the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
Depending on the infringement and court findings, remedies may include injunctions, damages, an account of profits, additional damages where permitted, other lawful relief and recoverable legal costs.
Serious conduct may be referred to appropriate authorities where a reasonable basis exists to suspect an offence.
Breaching these Terms is not automatically a criminal offence. Criminal liability and penalties depend on legislation and circumstances. GLS imposes no automatic financial penalty simply because a member breaches these Terms; monetary claims require a lawful basis.
16. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITY FOR UNAUTHORISED USE
A member who knowingly allows another person to use their account, unlawfully distributes protected content or otherwise breaches these Terms may be responsible for losses or legal consequences arising from their conduct to the extent recognised by law.
GLS may seek compensation where lawful. A member is not automatically liable for every act of an unknown third party merely because their account was compromised. Members must promptly report suspected compromise and reasonably cooperate with account security.
17. PRIVACY, ACCOUNT ACTIVITY AND ACCEPTANCE RECORDS
GLS may collect and retain information reasonably necessary to administer membership, secure the Guide and maintain evidence of acceptance. Depending on implemented systems this may include member name and contact details, user and membership identifiers, registration information, acceptance timestamp and version, and relevant account activity and security records.
IP addresses will be collected only where reasonably necessary and legally justified.
Where applicable, GLS will handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Australian Privacy Principles and its published Privacy Policy, provide required notices and take reasonable steps to safeguard data.
Information will not be collected or kept beyond what is reasonably necessary or legally justified. Records may be disclosed where legally permitted or required.
18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
Global Leak Solutions Pty Ltd (GLS) reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions where reasonably necessary to reflect changes in applicable laws, regulations, technical standards, safety requirements, technology, services or the operation and protection of the GLS Leak Detection Guide.
Updated Terms will be published with a revised version number and effective date. GLS will provide reasonable notice of material changes to affected members and obtain renewed acceptance where required by law or the nature of the changes.
Members are responsible for complying with current applicable laws and regulations regardless of when their membership commenced.
Changes to these Terms will apply to existing memberships only to the extent permitted by applicable law and the member's existing contractual rights. Material changes will not automatically apply retrospectively merely because a member accepted an earlier version.
Nothing in this section excludes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights, remedies, guarantees or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded, including Australian Consumer Law protections and statutory copyright exceptions.
If any provision is unenforceable, it applies only to the extent legally permitted and the remainder continues as far as possible.
20. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These Terms are governed by laws applicable in Queensland, Australia, including relevant Commonwealth legislation.
Subject to applicable law and competent jurisdiction, disputes may be brought before courts with jurisdiction in Queensland. Parties should first make reasonable efforts to resolve ordinary contractual disputes directly, except where urgent relief or another lawful process is appropriate.
